News about the first concerts in 2010 presenting works by Marlos Nobre on the beginning of the year (january,february,march)

January 10: The pianist Ana Lourdes Rodriguez, from Argentina, presents the TANGO for piano by Marlos Nobre in his presentation at the 'Hispanic Heritage Concert', at the wonderful acoustic space of the St. Patrick Church, Palm Beach, U.S.A.. The 'Tango' by Nobre was written by commission of Yvar Mickhashoff and it is dedicated 'in memoriam' to Arthur Rubinstein. January 16: The celebrated percussion ensemble DRUMMING ICTUS from Belgium, presents the new work REBOSSANDO (a De-construction of the 'Bossa-Noba') for six percussionists (2 marimbas, 2 Vibe. 2 Xilo) by Marlos Nobre in his concert at the Auditorium of Espinho, Portugal. 'Rebossando' was written by commission of the Grupo ICTUS,in 2009. January 23: The Duo Casado (flute and piano), with Conceição and Raquel Casado, presents the DESAFIO IX for flute and piano by Nobre, at the Santa Isabel Theather, Recife, Brazil, by the occasion of lauching the new CD 'Duo Casado- New Brazilian music for flute and piano'where the 'Desafio' is included. February 13: the Octeto Ibérico de Violonchelos (Cello Octet) directed by Elías Arizcúren with the mezzosoprano of Spain Elena Gragera, presents the CANTO A GARCIA LORCA for mezzosoprano and 8 celli, and the DESAFIO XXXII for cello octet by Marlos Nobre at the prestigious Auditorium Nacional of Madrid, Spain. The first work (the 'Canto') was written to celebrate the Centenary of Garcia Lorca in 1999. February 13: on the same day, the violinist Carmelo de los Santos presents the DESAFIO II for violin and piano by Marlos Nobre ath the 'Blue River Series', Breckenridge Music Festival, Colorado State University,USA. After the concert Karen and Jack Hunds will offers a reception in his house in Breckenridge. On march 07, the Trio Verdehr, with Walter Verdehr (violin), Elsa Ludewig-Verdehr (clarinet) and Silvia Roederer (piano)presents the WORLD PREMIERE of Marlos Nobre´s new work MANDALA for violin, clarinet and piano, at the prestigious Museum Philips Collection-One, Washington, D.C., USA. MANDALA by Marlos Nobre was commissioned by the University of Michigan, USA and it is dedicated to the Trio Verdehr. On March 29, the pianist Bernardo Scarambone, presents at the series 'Guest Artist Recital' at the Texas University A&M Dayton, USA, the following piano works by Marlos Nobre: IVºCICLO NORDESTINO (1.Caboclinhos 2. Cantilena 3. Maracatu 4. Ponteado 5. Frevo), the SONATINA; and FREVO II.
